So…it’s that most wonderful time of the year for all hookers…National Crochet Month!
My goal is to do a remix of last year’s make-along: the 4 Piece, No Biscuit…stay turned to start on Saturday 3/7!

On this day, in this month, I wanted to highlight the Black indies I’ve had the pleasure of meeting over the past year.
Ms. Lala of The Christian Crochet Addict, whom I worked with and have had the pleasure of breaking bread with, is both friend and client. I look forward to doing both in the future…and I now have a niece named Jubilee! 😉
Happy Anniversary to Brooke of Fully Spun (we met at Vogue 2019). Her marled yarn bursts with multiple colors in each skein. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like it! I’m honored to be part of and looking forward to the #MagicAndJoy you’re gonna bring!!!
Nia of The Crochet Cove has a colorway called Wild Side (which I’ve named #CrimeScene in my head) that I’d ordered before we met. We were vibing on IG, and I finally got to meet her at Vogue!
I also met the A and the T of AT Haynes House Yarns at Vogue, a husband and wife team building together. #BlackLove I’d also ordered from her before we met (#BabyMonster and #GreyNotGray). I was still drawn to those colors in person, so I knew I’d made good choices!
I must now shift my support to designing so I can work through the more respectable stash of Black indie dyers I now have!
It’s Black History Month, so it’s time for me to update last years’ information about BIPOC businesses.

Thank you to my students, (whom I introduced to my late mother as my inspiration; her photo travels with me to yarny events!)…they ROCK! In addition to honoring my request to be fragrance-free, they were sharp enough to spot my errors, forgive me for them and work through them with me (don’t forget to email me for your updated materials!) She who is notorious for spotting typos missed a few of her own! #OhTheHORROR!!! 😉

To be a better teacher, I strive to think like, listen to and learn from my students! There may be a comment or question that I can find ways to address: a different technique, a matter of perspective, a nugget of info. Sometimes what is learned isn’t always on the agenda, but being able to provide that builds confidence for you and your students!
I’m grateful for everyone who shared their space with me to join them in breaking bread. That is sacred to me; sharing a meal with someone is a powerful, bonding experience.
I’m proud to have been able to #SpeakWithMyWallet and reinvest some of my teaching fees back into the BIPOC indie dyer community, as well as promote them at every turn!
There are so many nuances and moments, and I’m sure I missed a few things in my hustling around, but overall, I think I can safely say this was the best VKLNY yet! #knittinglive
I plan to create a photo album for my pictures and videos, so they’re not scattered all over the interwebs…keep your popcorn handy! 😉

I had a revelation that has altered my approach to what a resolution is and means. To that end, my resolution is to build empires that support me and my dreams and allow my finances to surpass my generosity. Hear me out…
In addition to being a better and healthier me, there are things I want to be able to do and support, but have more time or ideas than resources. Service is at the heart of that and ties everything together for me.
Maybe there’s a disconnect on my part in how to find access to the funding or people to partner with…or maybe it’s more about being found. Well…here I am…come scoop me up! Let’s brainstorm and build!
